House to House E-NewsletterDear Constituents, As our too short and very strange summer comes to a close, I want to thank everyone in Calgary Forest Lawn for their patience and resilience over the course of 2020. It has been a stressful time for so many and I want you to know that I hear your voices in your calls, emails and letters to my office. Watching how so many people and organizations have stepped up to help those in need should make us proud of our community, our city and our province. I have been doing my best to support small business openings and special events over the last few months. If you know of a business or not-for-profit that I should visit, please let my office know at 403-207-3030 or jasrajsingh.hallan@parl.gc.ca. Now that September is here and our children have gone back to school, I hope that this is a sign of a return to our normal lives. Thank you to all the teachers as you return to work and thank you to all of the parents that have supported their children’s learning over the last few months. I know that it hasn’t been easy for anyone. I wish you all a happy, successful and safe school year. I’m hopeful that Parliament will also re-open next month after months of being restricted by Prime Minister Trudeau and the NDP and then a very sudden prorogation (closing of the House of Commons) with the WE scandal hanging over Mr. Trudeau’s head. I also want to begin to introduce new Conservative Party of Canada leader Erin O’Toole to residents of Calgary Forest Lawn. He won the leadership race that finished just this past weekend in a decisive victory. There have been many rumours of an early election this fall so I am delighted to have a new leader in place so that we are prepared for anything. |
