June Community News

Happy Canada Day!

Summer is officially here and we are (occasionally) enjoying some nice weather as our province slowly gets back to normal. The past few months of the COVID-19 pandemic has tested us all, and Canada’s Conservatives continue to stand up for you in Ottawa. We are working for you to try and hold Prime Minister Trudeau to account for his government’s response.

Unfortunately, the NDP conspired with the Liberal government to shut down the House of Commons in favour of a COVID-19 special committee. It is a much more limited form of accountability which is deliberate on the part of the government.

My colleagues and I continue to ask tough questions on behalf of families, seniors, small businesses, workers and all Canadians during these sessions. When it comes to federal support, we are continuing to press the government to fix their programs to ensure no one falls through the cracks.

If you need any assistance with any federal government programs, please don’t hesitate to call or email my office.

As with all the other special occasions of the last few months, Canada Day will be a little different this year with no big celebrations or fireworks displays. There will be virtual celebrations (including fireworks) and the province has lifted some limits on numbers of people allowed at gatherings.
