House to House E-Newsletter

Dear reader,

Let me start this month’s newsletter by saying Thank You to the voters of Calgary Forest Lawn for re-electing me to be your representative in the House of Commons. Being your Member of Parliament for the last two years is the greatest honour of my life and I am very grateful to be allowed to continue to serve you.

I owe big thanks also to all of the support from my campaign team, all the volunteers that stepped up to help and to my opponents for putting their names forward.

Like many of the people I met while doorknocking, I was very disappointed that this election cost taxpayers over $600 million for Justin Trudeau’s attempt to get a majority government and we got a result that changes very little.

Moving forward, we have another minority government and I believe that Canadians expect us to make it work. All parties will need to respect the fact that they do not have a ‘blank cheque’ to push their own agenda forward.  There will need to be compromise on many issues to see legislation move through Parliament.  Like you, I look forward to seeing what the Prime Minister is going to propose in the Speech from the Throne. The Conservative opposition will continue to work to hold the government to account and to improve proposed legislation as we did in the last Parliament.

I sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and encouragement and I want to remind all residents that while I may be your Conservative Member of Parliament, I proudly represent all my constituents in Parliament. My office has always been open to help anyone in need of assistance with federal services.

In your service,

Jasraj Singh Hallan

Member of Parliament

Calgary Forest Lawn
